On the Road Again, Again...

OK, it's Wednesday and I'm writing this from Valdivia, a beautiful town on the coast about 3 hours south of Temuco (we took a bus here this morning). Paula's cousin Francois lives here and we hope to see him tonight or tomorrow.

We spent the last couple days at a parcela of Consuelo's (the bride) mother about 15 minutes up a gravel road outside of Temuco. A parcela is a country house - in the US we might call it an acreage or a cabin. A place to get away from the city for some country life. There was no internet access there (so no updates to this blog) or phone (and cellular access was a bit spotty...).

Local Ambiance Update: The song Brazil just started playing on the music system here in the internet cafe...

The parcela was very, very nice as you can see from these photos. I'll also have some info on the Asados (South American Barbecues) that we attended.

For now, I just wanted to put in a quick note to let everyone know that we're alive and well and back on the road. I'll try to get back here to the internet cafe this evening and post some more info...

Another Local Ambiance Update: Now they're playing the theme song from the movie, The Triplets of Belleville. This is definitely my kind of place!

Chao!

Wow, Jack - your travelogue is great! We miss you here - but "JackieJan" is doing fine.
Your descriptions are so vivid you can almost taste the food! P.S. I got 3 squares on the Super Bowl grid - no idea yet which numbers - wish me luck!
